Could it be that solar panels can be made of human hair? Recently a teenager in India has invented one, it works well and may change how solar panels are made. Check it out…
Milan Karki is an 18 year old from a small village near rural Nepal. He was inspired after reading a book by Steven Hawking on creating static energy from hair. Recently Milan and 3 of his friends built the first prototype of the Hair Solar Panel to see if it would work. It works very well and costs less than half of what it would be to make a silicon panel. His panel produces 9V and 18 Watts of energy and is able to nearly outperform silicon panels on cloudy and semi cloudy days.
Mr. Karki hopes to one day solve the energy problem in the rural and poor villages of India with his discovery. He may also change the course of history and how solar panels are made. For more check out the original story here.

Nice,
Thank you for helping us to get this straight! It seems that there is evidence that the “hairy solar panel” is a hoax. The link above has explanations.

Greetings! I’m new to the site. I’ve read several comments about cooling solar panels but I haven’t seen anything about this: Will spraying the hot surface of solar panel glass with cool water break the glass? I am concerned about the sudden temperature change introducing stress to the glass surf.
