The main theme around this website is to make myself and my readers a little bit better every day.  I have always had a strong desire to be the best or at least be better than I was the day before. I believe  if you strive to be just a little better every day in whatever you do sooner or later you will find yourself among the best.  Here are some easy ideas to help transition into a better you.

If you have never seen the movie Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock I would encourage you to see it, it is very eye opening.  The plot of the documentary is that Morgan decided he could do anything for 30 days.  The movie documents how he ate only McDonald’s food for every meal for 30 days and he documented his findings.   I would like to challenge all of my readers to take this principle of “I can do anything for 30 days”  and try to do something to better yourself every day for a month.  Look at it as a risk free 30 day trial period to a better you and if you don’t see the benefits after 30 days then nothing is lost. You might find that you really accomplish a lot!  Here are some things you can do to get started:

  • Meet someone new every day.  Start up conversations with at least one person you don’t know every day. You will find your social skills will vastly improve and you might make some new friends too.
  • Reduce your clutter.  Sell something on Craigslist or Ebay everyday. Better yet get paid to recycle it!
  • Spend 30 minutes cleaning up and organizing every day.
  • Go for a walk every day.
  • Learn a new vocabulary word daily.
  • Call a different family member or friend every day to catch up.
  • Read something that interests you every day.

Now just doing some of the things listed above for 3o days I guarantee you will see a better version of you, but if you really want to amaze yourself and do a little more then try some of these for 3o days as well.

  • Stop watching TV.  Seriously. You aren’t missing much, you can even DVR it and watch it as a reward after you do something to better yourself.
  • Wake up early every day.
  • Write in a journal about things that interest you or things that happened in your day.
  • Make 25 sales calls every day for new business. If you do this 5 days a week all year that’s 6,500 calls a year! You can generalize this for whatever you do. Set a goal that pushes you a little and see where you land.
  • Go somewhere different every evening. Do something fun, you deserve it!
  • If you are single, ask someone new out on a date every day.  It could be just for coffee or lunch. Who knows, you may meet the love of your life.
  • If you are in a relationship give your spouse a massage every day, or even alternate days.

Look at this as a 30 day trial period.  If you don’t like it, then quit after 30 days and don’t feel bad.  If you do any of the things above you will end up bettering yourself and enriching your life. Pick a few or try them all but make sure you do an honest 3o day trial with the ones you do pick. Have some fun with it and encourage a friend to do this with you and see how you both improve.  Feel free to post any of your own ideas or comments below.
